completely free hard drive cloning software

The registry key should already point to my secondary hard drive. The problem I run into is now that windows boot its bare, it doesnt recoginize its own registry which is weird because i didnt change anything. Now the problem is, I was using my SSD as a boot drive and then a secondary drive for the user account and applications and blah blah. So cloning works, but disables your activated software. Thanks for reading and any help is appreciated. I wish Disk utility could officially read and write NTFS partitions because I would hook both drives up to my MBP and just clone them that way, but I would like to do this on my desktop. I normally do it on my macs and I use disk utility. I do have experience doing this kind of stuff. Now I know I might have to set it as the new Boot volume and all that jazz, I can do that, I have no problem with that. But since thats dead and I dont work for a school district, I would like to use something at home that I can run, leave, come back and be able to boot off my new SSD. Since I havent done this much before, I always used GHOST to re-image a machine / clone. What is the best free software that will get the old ENTIRE drive to the new one. So both will be running at prime conditions. New hard drive will be hooked up via SATA 3 just like old HDD is.

So I need my new SSD to go in tomorrow and be the smoothest transition possible.

I am doing this because ill be busy for the next 2-3 weeks with work, side work and family. This time around, I need to clone my old 60gb SSD, to my new 240gb. So generally, when I get a new hard drive, I reinstall windows, and everything else and go on with my day.
